Creative Edge are once again involved in the annual Combined Truro Schools Arts Events (CTSAE), which this years goes under the title 'Build Up'. The CTSAE event, now in its sixth year, started in 2005 with a celebration of the explorer Richard Lander founding the navigable course of the River Niger and focusing on African Art. Other themes covered have been Rivers, Cornish Mining, Cornish Gardens and last year, ‘Show ID’ looked at pupils own identities.
Build Up focuses on the history and architecture of the City of Truro and has seen students involved in a variety of joint workshops. They produced clay reliefs based on the architectural features discovered whilst exploring the rich heritage of Truro, as well as constructing a large scale relief of ‘Middle Row’ – a row of buildings that used to exist in Boscawen Street and working with an illustrator on a book.
The exhibition runs from Feb 26th – March 6th (9am - 6pm, Mon - Sat) at the Lander Gallery, Lemon Street market, Truro.
